#WalkAway from Fr. Martin

I haven’t been paying much attention to the world at large lately. Too much family business going on. This, however, popped up on my Facebook page a couple of days back. I’d heard the name Straka but really didn’t know what was going on, so I decided to give it a look.

You’re going to need to do some reading here, because I’m not going to pull this whole thing apart and I wouldn’t want you to miss one amazing thing in it:  https://www.theepochtimes.com/viral-walk-away-videos-highlight-growing-movement-of-democrats-leaving-the-party_2578446.html

Also, you need to watch this video:

I think these are an answer to my prayers, and while the article has everything to do with what’s happening in the good ol’ U-S-of-A, it’s also happening within the Catholic Church.  Don’t get too caught up in the Republican/Democrat thing. Look at the similarity of what’s going on in the Catholic Church, and just swap out “Democrats” with “Fr. James Martin, SJ, Fr. Rosica, Fr. Reese, New Ways Ministry, NAGLDM, the National catholic Reporter, America Magazine, etc., etc., etc.” Seriously, they use the same manipulations.  In the name of love, they sow hate, fear, jealousy, hopelessness, and division. And, just like in the larger USA, people are starting to tire of it – in the world of Christianity at large, as well as in the Catholic Church.

Look, you can only keep the lie up so long, and then people are going to figure out they’re being played. While Straka has just come to this realization, the other half of society has seen this all as the logical conclusion because, well, history. Same goes for the Church. At some point, the truth is going to hit them, then some of those people are going to take a chance, become emboldened, and speak the truth.

Fr. Martin has already started to have that problem, which is why the frenzied defense on his behalf. Eventually, that tiny hole in the dam will become an all-out breach, and hopefully sooner rather than later. The question is, who’s going to be the person to be brave and take a chance in the Catholic Church? Certainly, it’s been attempted by people who believe in the teachings of the Church wholeheartedly. What I want to know is, who is going to be the one who is struggling with them who is going to no longer allow themselves to be a pawn? Who is going to break the dam and let the truth pour out?

There are no two people on this earth who are going to agree on everything. In matters of Faith and morals, this is unfortunately apparent. No, I don’t believe that “gay marriage” is a right or is right. This doesn’t mean I hate YOU, reject YOU, or want YOU to disappear from the planet. This is ridiculous, but it’s what Fr. Martin and his club want you to believe. It means I believe I know what God wants for marriage via the Church teachings, yet you believe differently. Deal. Do you hate me because I believe differently?  I hope not, and I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt when you say “No H8.”  Why would you not afford me (and more importantly, the Catholic Church) the same benefit when we say we love you?

Look at this quote from Brandon Straka:

But it’s really the minorities in America who don’t feel like we have a choice. That’s what they keep telling us over and over: “You’re not safe on the right. They don’t want you on the right. They hate you on the right. You’re only safe with us. We are here to protect you.”

Meanwhile, are you kidding me? You’re here to ‘protect’ me? All you are doing is use my fears to scare the [expletive] out of me—to terrify me and to try to manipulate the way that I vote.

Let’s say you are someone suffering from same-sex-attraction and struggling with being Catholic or even struggling with Christianity at large.  Can’t you see the same quote coming from Fr.Martin and the minions?

But it’s really the minorities in the Catholic Church who don’t feel like we have a choice.  That’s why they (Martin and the minions) keep telling us over and over: “You’re not safe in the Church.  They don’t want you in the Church.  They hate you in the Church.  You’re only accepted with us.  We are here to protect you.”

Meanwhile, are you kidding me? You’re here to ‘protect’ me? All you are doing is use my fears to scare the [expletive] out of me—to terrify me and to try to manipulate my faith.

Many of us have been saying this is exactly what Fr. Martin and his cronies have been doing for quite a while. I’m just hoping my counterparts on what we’re told is “the other side” will finally see that we are being pitted against each other. This is why they are always playing the “you/them” card instead of the “us” card.

So, again, no, I don’t agree with Brandon Straka on everything – not even close.  If you watch the video, he leads off with rejecting junk science and superstition (I can only conclude that he means hard science and Christianity), but does he reject me, personally? Again, I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Lack of understanding and/or agreement doesn’t equal hate. Can it lead to such a thing? Sure, it’s definitely going to lead there if we follow the likes of Fr. Martin’s attempts to manipulate.

Let’s look at one last quote, this time from the Brandon Straka’s video, and try to tell me my interpretation of it is off base when it comes to what’s going on in the Church today.

The Democratic Party has adopted the deleterious belief system happily and without skepticism separating people into groups based off of identity and then organizing them into camps of victims and oppressors.  If you are a person of color, an LGBT person, a woman, or an American immigrant, the Democratic Party wants you to know you are a victim and destined to stay that way. They will insist that you are a victim doomed to exist in a system that is rigged against you, that you are a victim of systemic oppression, that you are a victim of your circumstances and that no amount of hard work or motivational action will every allow you to overcome your victimhood or the privilege of those around you. This is perhaps the Democratic Party’s greatest and most insidious lie.

But if you are a minority in America today, the left-wing politicians and the liberal media don’t want you to ever discover this lie. So they bombard us with stories designed to reinforce the narrative that you are in danger, that you cannot succeed. They manipulate your fears and concerns by telling you that you are disadvantaged, disempowered, and disposable to everyone except them. They will tell you that you need them. They will tell you that you are only safe under their supervision.  They will promise to liberate you from all that chains you. And then, they will do absolutely nothing for you.

And now for the “Martinized” version:

The liberal, dissident Catholics have adopted the deleterious belief system happily and without skepticism separating people into groups based off of identity and then organizing them into camps of victims and oppressors. If you are a person of color, an LGBT person, a woman, or an American immigrant, the liberal, dissident Catholics want you to know you are a victim and destined to stay that way. They will insist that you are persecuted and forced to exist in a Church that is rigged against you, that you are a victim of systemic oppression, that you are a victim of your circumstances (because you were born this way) and that no amount of hard prayer or the sacraments will every allow you to carry your cross with the rest of the faithful. You are different and separate from all the rest. This is perhaps the liberal, dissident Catholic’s greatest and most insidious lie.

But if you are a person suffering in the Church today, the liberal, dissident Catholics and the liberal catholic media don’t want you to ever discover this lie. So they bombard us with stories designed to reinforce the narrative that you are persecuted, that you cannot possibly bear your cross.

Tell me this isn’t exactly what Fr. Martin his club does on a regular basis! It’s time for the revolution against this pathetic predatory practice.  #WalkAwayFromFrMartin #WalkAwayFromTheBridge #RunToTheChurch

    1. I always send it to them and they have been very generous in publishing the blog but, interestingly enough, the server was rejecting the email today. Feel free to send it on my behalf. Maybe you’ll have better luck. Thanks!

  1. Well said. No one can run away from the truth for long. Someone has to tell the Emperor he has no clothes. The best defense against those who want to change facts and history for the sake of an agenda or political correctness is to reply with the truth – repeatedly – for as long as it takes. Sooner or later they will start to use their God-given reason and see the light. God bless all here.

  2. My son is gay. I don’t care how your church treats gays; we are not Catholic and are never, ever going to be because we prefer a church that respects women and gays. It does, however, matter that he is allowed to live his life without fear of being arrested or fired or denied housing, which your side has done in the past and will do again, immediately once you get the chance. Because he is threated with legal penalties for expressing a fundamental piece of his personality, he IS A victim. So are women, whom your side wants to lock back in the kitchen. Anyone who trusts the right wing to be decent is a damned fool.

I wish for you son’s mental, physical and spiritual health! I don’t want to see him suffer from the above, which is why I am totally and utterly against the “gay lifestyle.” All of these are associated with homosexual practices. Arrested? Really? Please show me the Church document calling for that?!?! Stop the hysteria and realize that telling your child to do whatever he pleases because “love is love” greatly increases his chance of an early death or some other horrible health problem. Would you give your child the thumbs up if they were shooting heroin? You’re choosing family relations over science and morality and I believe we can have both and so does the Church. https://onemadmomblog.wordpress.com/2017/06/27/the-catholic-church-thinks-we-deserve-better/

As far as women go…this thinking has set us back years, not the Church. If you were Catholic you would know how much the Church esteems women. You’re just reading the MSM hype.

    2. Karenjo, don’t let OMM’s ignorance get to you. Fortunately, not all Catholics believe as she does. Your son is perfect and I’m so glad he has you as a mom. I’ve worked with too many kids whose parents don’t accept them. Anyone that thinks that being gay is a “choice” is deluded. No one would put themselves through the pain of “being different”. Your son is brave and you are lucky to have each other.

      1. TT or TA, not really sure if you are the same person. It’s not about “being gay.” It’s about the choices you make and the actions you take when you are. It’s no different for me. I am heterosexual. The choices I make and the actions I take are what matter. Nobody is saying to not to accept the human person. We are very much saying we reject actions that will harm them physically, mentally and spiritually and so does the Church. That’s why She exists – to guide us and keep us safe from our own stupidity.

          1. I think the latest article you posted was 1985. Current thinking disavows the whole concept. McGraw-Hill Manual of Colorectal Surgery says:

Coined in the pre-HIV era, the term “gay bowel syndrome” comprised a rather unselective potpourri of unusual anorectal and GI symptoms experienced by homosexual males… with better understanding of the underlying causes, this term is outdated: the derogatory terminology should be abandoned and more specific entities and terms recognized and used.[5]

Honestly, with your thinking, since women commonly get UTI’s following sex and other STDs, maybe sex in general should be outlawed. That’s the logical conclusion I draw.

            Like

          2. The argument is evolving. Does it not exist or has the term just fallen out of fashion? I’ll totally agree it’s not longer politically correct to use. I will also agree that it’s jumped the boundries just as AIDS did due to the “bi-sexual” practices of some. There’s still bacteria, viruses, etc. causing havoc primarily in the bowels of gay men due to their sexual practices. You want to call it something else? Feel free! I’m sure it’ll make you feel better. And your UTI comment is silly. You cannot ignore the fact that homosexual acts and sex outside of marriage leads to a myriad of health diseases. In fact, may people can drag those into their marriage. And if you don’t think homosexual men are at higher risk for many of the ugly ones, please got to the CDC website. That community, in particular, has been hit hard. Why do you want this to continue? Oh, that’s right. You don’t. You want to throw condoms at people and relieve your conscience. Too bad that program has been an epic failure. So many people, so ill, so sad.

  3. Really OMM, you are showing your ignorance here, or blind belief in untruths. There is so such thing as Gay Bowel Syndrome. Every one of the “beauties” you mention is found in both men and women. Your lack of acceptance of lifestyles different from your own is sad. You waste so much energy “worrying” about other’s lives. Just live you own in peace, and let others live theirs in peace. Don’t feel sorry for them. They don’t want it and they don’t need it.

    1. Teach acceptance. Google. Coined by Dr. Kazal in the 70s. It’s a catch all for nasty bacterial issues due to anal “sex” and oral/anal “sex.” Good try at “gotcha!” You might never have heard of it but I can assure you many in the homosexual community are living with it. Can it be found outside the homosexual community? Uh, sure. Anyone engaging in acts like sodomy can pick these babies up. However, the instances are higher in the “gay” community and much higher in the male “gay” community. The Church doesn’t want anyone to get these diseases.

And where did I say that these weren’t found in men and women.”Karen, which of these beauties would a mom wish upon her son or daughter?” Oops again on your part. Note “son or daughter.” Please read before you respond. It’s a time suck correcting wrong assertions.

      1. I did Google it and it has lost all support as a diagnosis. Mea culpa for the sons and daughters. It’s hard when I’m reading in a blind rage.

        1. BTW, TA, wouldn’t it be nice if we could all stop the rage? That was kind of the point of the article. We are not enemies. We are simply people who disagree and I will always gladly explain my position.

          Like

          1. Honestly, without rage, there is blind acceptance. I think back to Nazi Germany. I will always have anger for those who are treated unfairly, “in the name of God”. I’m wondering if you feel rage for the children who are separated from their parents when in fact that didn’t have to happen, even given that their parents were committing and illegal act in pursuit of a safe life for their kids.

            Like

          2. Interesting you pick Nazi Germany because who stood up to them and smuggled and hid ALL persecuted from Germany? The Church. Blind acceptance is how you frame it. Not me. I have spend many years studying the Faith (and will likely never finish).

The thing is, we’re all treated quite fairly and all by the same set of truths. The truths are no different for me, you or Karen’s son because, well, truth doesn’t change for the person and their circumstance. It’s like gravity. We jump off a bridge, we’re all going to go down.

As we’ve discussed before sin causes illness. I don’t want that for anyone including myself.
You’re going to say I’m judgmental and I will totally agree. We are all called to judge actions and you do so on a regular basis. Take the border for instance. You are judging that unfair treatment is occurring. (And to answer your question, yes, I am not happy with the border situation although, sadly, I think this is where we ended up with many previous bad moves I wasn’t happy about.)

  4. That’s an incredibly silly statement. (don’t you love how demeaning the word silly is? It implies one is a small child. You use it frequently so I thought I would use it back). You clearly define what is your truth. Does that mean that all other religions have no basis in the truth for those that believe them? Incredibly arrogant and the reason why wars are fought and lost over religion. Teach acceptance of other’s truths. BTW, I changed from Teach Tolerance because tolerance isn’t enough.

    1. Yeah, no. There are many things that I wish were not facts that are but I live in the real world where there is a truth whether I like it or not. If I thought I could make up my own truth whenever I liked, I wouldn’t be in the confession line quite so often.

As far as other religions go, some have partial truth and some have no truth. I cannot possibly accept “other truths” because they aren’t truth. You can’t have 3 different facts of the same thing or they would all cease to be truth. One is right and I’ve chosen which on I think it is based on centuries of those who have gone before me and their beautiful explanations of truth and, of course, Christ.

  5. You do realize that most of the people that explained your truth were corrupt men, right? This is the first time that I have actually felt sorry for you because you clearly are unwilling to realize that others feel the same way about their “truth” or belief. Whatever floats your boat.

    1. And because we have very human men as leaders (the Church teaching is that we are all sinners) God preserved the teaching of the truth via the Holy Spirit. Of course we don’t believe we could have ever survived 2,000 years without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So, you either believe this or you don’t. Seems rather fruitless to argue about it if you don’t. I, personally, don’t believe in multiple truths because, well, that’s rather insane. Truth is immutable. What you do not seem to get it is doesn’t matter what you or I think. It matters what God thinks and in a world where there are as many different beliefs as people, I’m happy Christ left us the Church to protect us from our huge egos. It makes zero sense that God would not protect truth else we be right back to Babylon.

BTW, I’m pretty sure you’ve told me more than once how sorry you feel for me. LOL!

  6. That’s just the point. It’s your truth. Someone else has a different truth that they just as strongly believe in. The arrogance among Catholics, or any other religion, that theirs is the only truth is astounding to me. I can live with a little uncertainty.

    1. There is no such world where a child will not be burnt by the hot stove because she doesn’t perceive it as hot. No, there are not different truths for individuals. Neither you nor I determine the truth. God, Himself, is the author. The Church is simply given to us by God to educate us as to what happens when the proverbial stove is hot. You see the Church as trying to cause harm and I see it is our guide to truth. I’m not always happy with the truth either but I’d be a fool to ignore it thinking it is what I make of it. Truth simply is what it is. It’s immutable and cannot change based on wishes and dreams of it doing so.

      1. Depends upon who your god is, don’t you think? Depends on what church you belong to. Some truths are incontrovertible. Be kind to others. Do unto others as you would do unto yourself. Live and let live even if you don’t agree.

        1. Not in the least.

All truth is incontovertible or it would cease to be truth. It matters not whether we agree or disagree.

Flannery O’Conner nails it: The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it.

  8. Here is a quote from one of the greatest saints ever regarding homosexuality. St. Catherine relays words of Our Lord, about the vice against nature, which contaminated part of the clergy in her time. Referrng to sacred ministers, He said: “They not only fail from resisting this frailty [ of fallen human nature]…but do even worse as they commit the cursed sin against nature. Like the blind and stupid having dimmed the light of the understanding, they do not recoginze the disease and misery in which they find themselves. For this not only causes Me nausea, but displeases even the demons themselves, whom these miserable creatures have chosen as their lords. For Me, this sin against nature is so abominable that , for it alone, five cities were submersed, by virtue of the jugdment of My Divine Justice, which could no longer bear them…It is disagreable to the demon, not because evil displeases them and they find pleasure in good, but because their nature is angelic and thus is repulsed upon seeing such an enormous sin being commited. It is true that it is the demons who hit the sinner with the poisoned arrow of lust, but when a man carries out such a sinful act, the demons leave.
